We have been using a 6 metre folding duplex guttler roller with
drawbar and transport wheels for two seasons. It has proved to be
one of the most useful and versatile pieces of kit we have ever
bought because it has the ability to run in both wet and dry
conditions while providing consolidation, clod crushing and
levelling effects. We tow the roller behind our Horsch FG
cultivator. It has enabled us to do away with the following harrow
as the roller provides good levelling as well as consolidation. We
have also used it as a final pass on a sowed seed bed, either as a
separate pass or towed behind our Amazone Primera drill when
conditions required. The guttler roller used as a final pass on a
seedbed seems to remove any danger of capping which may be
associated with other types of roller.
