FAQ’s
Synthetic or special cast iron - what should I choose?
If fitting a roller to a power harrow, you already have a very
heavy machine so do not need the extra weight of cast rings.
Synthetic material works very well because of the prisma shape of
the rings gives enough pressure to the soil. For subsoilers, you
may need the heavier cast ring. Consult you local dealer for
advice.
Why do synthetic rollers have cast end rings?
To give extra strength and stability
Will the synthetic material wear out?
You will be surprised at how hard wearing the synthetic material
is - in our experience, synthetic rings last just as long as cast
rings so it's important that you choose the correct roller type
depending on its application and your soil type, not on
durability.
I'm on stony ground - Will the stones jam?
The slight flexibility of the synthetic material will work well
on stony ground.
Will the roller really keep going in wet or sticky
conditions?
Yes, the unique Guttler design means that the roller really does
solve some of the blocking and sticking problems other rollers may
experience.
How long will this roller last?
That will depend very much on its usage, but over time you may
notice the spacers slacken. We can supply new compression bushes
and spacers and the rings can be tightened together again. We can
supply new bearings and scrapers as required.
