Features

The SX56 is single row of 56cm Ø Guttler rings in special cast iron or synthetic ultra material. The special cast iron ring is cast in 2 halves and clamped around a centre square shaft eliminating the need for spacers and washers between the rings. The synthetic ultra 56cm Ø ring is also fitted to a square shaft, but spacers and washers are required. Rollers fitted to frames are complete with 40mm Ø bearings.

Fitting

Rollers and frame

The roller may be supplied as a complete unit with frame, bearings, scrapers and fully adjustable scraper bar. Clamps and brackets can be supplied which can be welded to existing machinery. To ensure complete adaptability of the roller, we advise that brackets are clamped to the roller and not welded. If you decide to replace the machine, you can keep the roller.

Rings and shaft

Rollers can also be supplies as bespoke rollers without frame or bearings. Using specially made brackets, we can supply Guttler rings on the appropriate size shaft which will drop directly into the machine. All we need to know is the width required and the bearing size.

NB. Consideration must be given to the fitment of scrapers when fitting rings and shafts to existing machinery.

Clamps and brackets

We have a huge range of clamps and brackets available to adapt rollers to almost any existing machinery.

Scrapers

The scrapers are fitted to fully adjustable scraper bars. The scrapers themselves do not touch the rings and therefore do not act as a brake on the roller.

Headstocks

A simple headstock can clamped the frame of the roller - this can enable you to use your roller as both front mounted press and rear mounted roller.

FAQ's

Synthetic or special cast iron - what should I choose?

We fit 56cm Ø synthetic ultra rings to a very small number of power harrows, but for subsoilers and culitivators, we would always recommend the heavier special cast iron rings.

Will the special cast iron break?

In all our years associated with the Guttler product, we have yet to replace a broken 56cm Ø ring. If this should ever happen though, remember, you will only need to replace half a ring!

Will the roller really keep going in wet or sticky conditions?

Yes, the unique Guttler design means that the roller really does solve some of the blocking and sticking problems other rollers may experience.

Andrew Manfield

We have been using a 6 metre folding duplex guttler roller with drawbar and transport wheels for two seasons. It has proved to be one of the most useful and versatile pieces of kit we have ever bought because it has the ability to run in both wet and dry conditions while providing consolidation, clod crushing and levelling effects. We tow the roller behind our Horsch FG cultivator. It has enabled us to do away with the following harrow as the roller provides good levelling as well as consolidation. We have also used it as a final pass on a sowed seed bed, either as a separate pass or towed behind our Amazone Primera drill when conditions required. The guttler roller used as a final pass on a seedbed seems to remove any danger of capping which may be associated with other types of roller.

We were looking for a front press and tines to work ahead of our Weaving Tined drill, and liked the idea of adding draw bar and depth wheels to change to a trailed press for a more versatile machine.

This is a simple machine which can be changed from front press to trailed unit in less than 20 mins, and works well in wet and dry conditions and on a variety of soil types.
